The Occupational English Test measures the English of healthcare professionals in workplace situations. Listening and Reading are the same for every profession; Writing and Speaking are specific to nursing.
OET assesses the English used in healthcare work: understanding a consultation, reading protocols, writing a letter to another professional and talking to a patient clearly and safely.
The test exists for twelve professions. Listening and Reading are the same for all of them; Writing and Speaking change with the profession. Aclivum trains the nursing version.
All four subtests are taken on the same day. Listening, Reading and Writing run back to back, and Speaking completes the test.
