Scores and results

Each section receives a band from 0 to 9, in whole or half bands. The overall score is the average of the four, rounded according to a fixed rule.

Calculate your overall score

Sample values
6.5

Average 6.25. Ending in .25, it rounds up to the next half band.

The rounding rule

The average of the four bands is rounded to the nearest whole or half band, and ties always round up.

6.125 → 6

Below .25 rounds down to the whole band.

6.25 → 6.5

Ending in .25 rounds up to the next half band.

6.625 → 6.5

Between .5 and .75, it stays at the half band.

6.75 → 7

Ending in .75 rounds up to the next whole band.

Many institutions also require a minimum score in each section, not only overall.
